Mindray TE5 Ultrasound in Glen Allen, VA

Advanced Ultrasound Imaging for Precise, Informed Aesthetic Care

At Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology serving Richmond,  Glen Allen, VA, and surrounding areas, the Mindray TE5 Ultrasound allows us to bring real-time imaging into select aesthetic assessments and injectable procedures. This advanced technology helps us visualize structures beneath the skin and better understand the anatomy of a treatment area before making a plan.

We use aesthetic ultrasound in several ways, including evaluating areas that have been previously treated with filler, identifying the location and depth of existing product, reviewing anatomy in higher-risk treatment areas, and guiding treatment when additional precision is helpful. Ultrasound can also be especially useful when a patient has concerns about prior filler or when targeted dissolving with hyaluronidase is being considered.

For some patients, ultrasound may be incorporated before treatment to provide additional anatomical information and help guide a more individualized approach. In other cases, it may be used during a procedure to assist with ultrasound-guided injections or more precisely target previously placed hyaluronic acid filler.

Ultrasound does not replace clinical judgment, but it adds another layer of information that can help us make more informed decisions and approach complex aesthetic treatments with greater precision

What Is Mindray TE5 Ultrasound?

The Mindray TE5 is a specialty ultrasound system designed to provide enhanced image quality across a wide range of clinical applications. Its slim profile, small footprint, and intuitive touch-enabled interface allow the system to be conveniently incorporated into different clinical environments.

Mindray designed the TE5 with technologies that support interventional procedures and needle visualization. These capabilities include eSpacial Navi™ 4D magnetic needle navigation and second-generation iNeedle+™ technology.

At Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology, the TE5’s real-time imaging capabilities may be incorporated into appropriate aesthetic assessments and injectable procedures. Facial ultrasound for injectables provides an additional way for our providers to evaluate relevant structures beneath the skin and use that information when planning treatment.

How Mindray TE5 Ultrasound Works

Ultrasound technology creates real-time images of structures beneath the skin using high-frequency sound waves. A compatible transducer is positioned against the treatment area, allowing the provider to view the resulting images on the TE5 display.

For interventional procedures, the TE5 incorporates specialized technologies designed to enhance needle visualization:

  • eSpacial Navi™: Mindray’s 4D magnetic needle navigation technology provides enhanced needle visualization and location during compatible in-plane and out-of-plane procedures. It allows the needle tip and trajectory to be visualized during interventional procedures.
  • iNeedle+™: Mindray’s second-generation needle-visualization technology automatically detects needle angle and improves needle visibility on compatible linear and convex transducers.

Mindray also offers a range of TE5 transducers designed for superficial and deep-tissue imaging. At our practice, your provider will determine the appropriate imaging approach based on the area being evaluated and your treatment plan.

Areas We Evaluate With Ultrasound

Aesthetic ultrasound may be used to evaluate select facial areas based on your anatomy, previous treatment history, and planned procedure:

  • Forehead and Temples: Provides additional real-time anatomical information when evaluating areas that may be considered for injectable treatment.
  • Cheeks and Midface: Allows providers to visualize relevant structures beneath an area commonly treated with dermal fillers and other aesthetic injectables.
  • Nasolabial and Perioral Areas: May provide additional anatomical information when assessing treatment around the lower face and mouth.
  • Chin and Jawline: Supports anatomical assessment when planning appropriate injectable or contouring procedures.
  • Previously Treated Areas: Facial ultrasound may provide useful information when evaluating an area with a history of previous dermal filler or other injectable treatments.

Additional areas may be evaluated depending on your individual needs. Your provider will determine whether ultrasound imaging is appropriate during your consultation.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Consultation Process

Our team reviews your aesthetic concerns, previous injectable treatments, relevant medical history, and treatment goals to determine whether Mindray TE5 Ultrasound may be beneficial as part of your personalized plan.

If you have previously received dermal filler or another injectable treatment, let your provider know which products were used, the areas treated, and the approximate treatment dates whenever possible.

The Procedure

A compatible ultrasound transducer is positioned against the skin over the area being evaluated. The TE5 generates real-time ultrasound images that allow your provider to view relevant structures beneath the surface.

When ultrasound guidance is appropriate for an injectable procedure, imaging may also be incorporated during treatment to provide additional visualization. Mindray’s TE5 technology is designed to support interventional procedures with features that enhance needle visualization.

The exact use of ultrasound will depend on your anatomy, treatment area, procedure, and your provider’s clinical judgment.

Post-Treatment Instructions

Ultrasound imaging itself is noninvasive and does not create a separate recovery period. If your ultrasound evaluation accompanies dermal filler or another injectable treatment, aftercare and downtime will depend on the procedure performed.

Follow all treatment-specific aftercare instructions provided by your Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology provider.

Good to Know

Mindray TE5 Ultrasound is an imaging system rather than an aesthetic treatment. The technology provides real-time visual information that a trained provider can incorporate into clinical assessment and appropriate procedures.

Mindray markets the TE5 for a broad range of clinical and procedure-focused applications, including injections and needle visualization. At Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology, your provider determines when those imaging capabilities may appropriately support aesthetic assessment or injectable care.

Not every injectable procedure requires ultrasound. Its use depends on your individual anatomy, treatment history, treatment area, planned procedure, and your provider’s clinical judgment.

Aesthetic Ultrasound for Ultrasound-Guided Injections

Injectable treatments require a detailed understanding of facial anatomy. Providers traditionally combine anatomical knowledge with physical examination, treatment history, and other clinical information when developing an injectable plan.

Aesthetic ultrasound adds real-time imaging to that assessment. When appropriate, facial ultrasound for injectables can give the provider additional information about structures beneath the skin before or during a procedure.

For select ultrasound-guided injections, the provider can incorporate live imaging while performing the procedure. The TE5’s eSpacial Navi™ and iNeedle+™ technologies are specifically designed by Mindray to enhance needle visualization during compatible interventional procedures.

Ultrasound-guided fillers are one potential aesthetic application of ultrasound guidance when deemed appropriate by the treating provider. Your provider will determine whether imaging would provide useful additional information for your particular treatment.

FAQs

The Mindray TE5 is a specialty ultrasound system that provides real-time imaging using ultrasound technology. Mindray designed the system with enhanced image quality, a touch-enabled interface, and specialized technologies for needle visualization during interventional procedures.

Aesthetic ultrasound refers to the use of ultrasound imaging within an aesthetic setting. At Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology, ultrasound may be incorporated into appropriate assessments or procedures to provide additional visualization of structures beneath the skin.

A compatible ultrasound transducer is positioned against the skin to produce real-time images of the area being evaluated. Your provider can use this imaging as an additional source of anatomical information when planning or performing appropriate injectable procedures.

Ultrasound-guided fillers involve incorporating real-time ultrasound imaging into an appropriate dermal filler procedure. Ultrasound may provide additional visualization before or during treatment. Your provider will determine whether ultrasound guidance is appropriate based on your anatomy, treatment history, and planned procedure.

During an ultrasound-guided injection, ultrasound provides real-time imaging that can assist the provider with visualization during the procedure. The Mindray TE5 includes technologies such as eSpacial Navi™ and iNeedle+™, which Mindray designed specifically to enhance needle visualization during compatible interventional procedures.

eSpacial Navi™ is Mindray's 4D magnetic needle navigation technology. With a compatible transducer, it provides enhanced needle visualization and location and can display the needle tip and trajectory during in-plane or out-of-plane interventional procedures.

iNeedle+™ is Mindray's second-generation needle-visualization technology. It automatically detects needle angle and is designed to improve needle visibility on compatible linear and convex transducers during interventional procedures.

Ultrasound may provide useful additional information when a provider is evaluating an area with a history of previous injectable treatment. Whether imaging is appropriate for your particular situation will be determined during your consultation.

Ultrasound imaging itself is noninvasive. A compatible transducer is positioned against and moved over the skin to obtain images. If you receive an injectable treatment during the same appointment, your experience will also depend on that procedure.

Ultrasound imaging itself does not require a separate recovery period. If ultrasound is used in conjunction with dermal filler or another injectable treatment, expected downtime and aftercare will be based on that procedure.

Pricing may vary depending on how ultrasound imaging is incorporated into your consultation, assessment, or aesthetic procedure. Contact Aesthetic Center of Richmond Dermatology for current pricing and treatment information.
